Movie Scene

In this scene from "V for Vendetta" V injected poison to the doctor while she was sleeping, giving her a painless death. Everything this scene presented represented death itself. V represented as death or the grim reaper, claiming lives of others. Dr. Surridge (the lady in the scene) injected prisoners of a potent virus and saw that the outcome of her actions caused many to suffer in which she regrets and tries to fix it. However, despite her actions to make it right, V still takes her life but does it in almost a loving way. He doesn't stab and make her feel pain like he does with others because she showed regret and tried to make up for her actions. He also, shows a point that death is "fair", by taking the lives of everyone that contributed to the country's destruction, he shows this by taking Dr.Surridge life even though she showed remorse. He still has to take her life in order to show that death treat people equally without favouritism or discrimination, that death waits for no one and would all come one day. The lighting created a rich image, deep shadows making it a bit uneasy. However, the music played at the background helped created a touching mood and helped represent her death making it calm and tranquil. The red rose represent many things such as love, respect and a long time ago politics. The rose symbolizes what V fights for and his revenge, it also represent what the Dr. Surridge feel for the victims as a way to find redemption.
